All Ages – Bruce Katz Band / Husky Burnette

Bruce Katz Band

Bruce Katz is a four time (2008, 2009, 2010, 2015) Nominee for the Blues Music Award (W.C. Handy Award) for “Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year”, selected by the Blues Foundation of Memphis, TN.

While Blues is a very important part of his music, Bruce’s music has more angles and influences, occupying a unique space where blues, “soul-jazz”, jam-band rock, and all aspects of Americana Music collide into a style of original music all his own. He is equally comfortable playing Hammond B-3 Organ and Piano.

Husky Burnette

Ever since 2011, when Brian “Husky” Burnette released his first solo album, the mission has been clear: play for fun, respect the art, tour heavily and keep the music real. Not your average blues man, he blends dirty blues and raw rock n roll with a punk energy, rough and gritty, hauling a truckload of tone. If blues-influenced rock n roll is a religion then he’s sho nuff preaching.

Hailing from Colorado by way of Tennessee, Brian Burnette, better known as Husky, has followed in his family’s footsteps, writing, recording and touring for a living. He grew up in the south around old souls, older music and the stories and sounds of Johnny & Dorsey Burnette. His musical family was a huge and constant inspiration from day one. Husky’s biggest influences were Hendrix, Muddy Waters, Gram Parsons and Leon Russell. Listening to those artists, along with being taken under Roger Alan Wade’s wing for a couple of years, helped shape his songwriting. Early on, however, it was his love of rock and metal that had the biggest impact on his guitar playing. Later he would find, and dig deep, into the sounds of the amped-up North Mississippi hill country blues, finding somewhat of a home for the alt-blues style of songs he was writing.
