BREAKPOINT METHOD / DOGS OF NEPTUNE / MAXIMUS

Rock is not dead!  May 12th Friday Night @ 9pm – $7 Cover – 3 amazing bands.

BREAKPOINT METHOD – Breakpoint started out as THE Breakpoint Method many years ago with almost all different members. The bass guitarist and band’s engineer, co-producer, and longest tenured member had spent years building this brand and touring on this name and creating a fan base with hard work and determination, but didn’t yet have the full arsenal of music he knew would lift him to another level. After finding a new drummer and losing his guitarist and singer shortly afterwards, Eric Reid found himself at a crossroads with his music career. After much thought, he decided to give it one more heave, pushing harder than he ever had. He decided to build a studio for himself and have a place he could lay his own music down instead of outsourcing. As fate would have it, the next puzzle piece was coming right on cue.

Breakpoint Method’s drummer Mike Mast, a Kansas City native who had joined TBM in the middle stages of its existence, had finally got into a project he admired greatly and did not want to see it fade away or die off. He and Eric decided that they would reach out to a friend to fill in for some time until they could get everything under their feet and moving again. Mike had a suggestion of a guy named Tyler Lyon from Kansas City. So after a few talks over the phone, it was decided that Tyler would fill in. So starts the first chapter of what is to become BPM.

Tyler Lyon has been performing on major stages all over the country since his first major show with Marilyn Manson in 2003. His most widespread success in the rock world, The Leo Project, sold 50,000+ records and toured the country countless times with artists like Tesla, 10years, Sevendust, Camp Freddy, etc. In 2006 Tyler did his first song with independent rapper Tech N9NE and by 2013 he had been featured on hooks for Tech N9NE and a handful of other big hip-hop artists like Bonecrusher, Rittz, and Brotha Lynch. in 2014, Tyler was asked to be the guitarist for Tech N9NE as he toured the country promoting his record. For the next few years Tyler toured, writing music and performing on songs with artists like Tech, Jonathan Davis (korn) and Corey Taylor (slipknot) before parting ways with Strange Music in 2016.

DOGS OF NEPTUNE – Dogs of Neptune was formed in 2013 with the idea to write music with metal harmonies and a British metal invasion type sound and ideal. Comprised of former members of slipknot , stone sour , down the sun , and mindrite the direction of this bands music is and will be metal .

MAXIMUS – Maximus was formed in April of 2014 by accomplished songwriter/performer Blackie Starks (vocals and guitar) with an idea that good solid radio rock, reminiscent of the music he grew up listening to was seemingly being replaced with the same ole cookie cutter do it over and over assembly line music that lacked the life he remembered. Contacting friends in the industry he’d met during his career as a professional musician, he’d written some songs and had to find the right individuals to express his vision live. Rich Silman (guitar and vocals) a long time friend introduced him to Brandon Orton (bassist) to fill in some dates and the two eventually became permanent members of the band. Trying out several other musicians and not quite finding the right fit, they’d finally run across a long time friend of Blackie’s Steven Lampley (guitar and vocals) who himself had recently become available from a former band and was searching for exactly what Maximus was offering. Like something out of Spinal Tap, the band went through drummer after drummer often playing with one for just one show before realizing they just weren’t going to be a long term fit. Steven then introduced his nephew Mike Peters (drums) to the band and after one practice session, they knew instantly he was the right guy to round out the lineup.
Only a few months old, Maximus had already shared the stage with national touring acts, was headlining to large interactive crowds, and recording with national artists as guest musicians and was offered a recording contract with Atlanta based CBM Records under the guidance of Kimberly James. With one single already spinning on FM stations worldwide, and the second being released in the summer of 2015, Maximus offers an explosive live experience for fans everywhere. The band believes in doing everything over the top like the stadium bands of the eighties once did, hence the name Maximus.
