Dartanyan Brown

Dartanyan Brown is an inductee into the Iowa Jazz, Blues and Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.

Dartanyna Brown comes from a musical family. His dad, Ellsworth Brown was one of the first musicians to bring bebop to Des Moines. In the 70’s  he joined Chase, a grammy-nominated Jazz-Rock band led by trumpet star Bill Chase. He spent on the road doing shows with Herbie Hancock, Sly Stone, Jim Croce, Maynard Ferguson, to name a few.

Throughout his career, Dartanyan has recorded and/or performed with an incredible variety of musicians, dancers, performance artists and purveyors of new media. The list includes trumpeter Bill Chase, Attila Zoller, Suru Ekeh, Grover Washington, Jr., Mark Levine, Kenny Barron, Horace Arnold, Mike Vax, Larry Ridley, Clark Terry, Dick Oatts, Warren Gale, Alvin Batiste, Kent Jordan, Arnie Lawrence, Barry Finnerty, Frank Foster and many others.

Matt Woods

Matt Woods is both a native of Iowa, and a longstanding purveyor of its diverse blues scene. As a seasoned performer of many local, regional and national clubs and venues, Matt has developed a distinct style while staying true to his love of traditional American roots music.  Woods is well-versed in the many shapes this music can take; from traditional delta, hill country and urban electric blues, to gospel, country and folk music.
