Handlebar / No Good Deed / Pets With Human Names

3 Great Des Moines Bands – All on one weekend night.  What more can you ask for.

Handlebar – ears ago multiple people had sex and 5 awesome people were created. Years went by and they did separate things. All of a sudden something in the universe brought those 5 awesome people together and they formed Handlebar.

-The End

No Good Deed – is an alternative rock band from Des Moines, Iowa.
Formed in 2012, No Good Deed features Doug Hansen (guitar/vocals), Jeff Morgan (bass) and Ray Ebert (drums). Early shows with groups such as The Melismatics, Broadway Calls and The Dead Girls showcased the group’s knack for delivering tight, catchy, hook-laden songs.
In 2013, No Good Deed supported Everclear, Live, Sponge and Filter during the Summerland Tour stop in Des Moines and shared stages with Gaelic Storm and The Young Dubliners.
In September 2014, the band released its debut disc, “Looking for a Mantra,” to rave reviews from local and national media. The collection of guitar-driven songs, filled with big hooks and rich vocal harmonies, is available on CD Baby, iTunes and Amazon.

Pets With Human Names – After Benton Schoenrock drunkenly suggested that his friends start a band with him in 2012, guitarist Alex Nickeson set the challenge that if Schoenrock bought a drum kit, he would find them a rehearsal space. A mere 24 hours later and the pair were nursing their hangovers whilst setting up a brand new drum kit in a freshly rented storage locker in their hometown of Des Moines, IA.

The pair soon recruited mutual friend Andrew Pierson to play bass, and after someone attempted to run a birthday ad for a dog named Tommy in the newspaper the trio worked for, Pets With Human Names was founded.
