As our tenth year draws to a close and after much consideration, we’ve made the challenging decision to say goodbye before the new year. Lefty’s Live Music has been an incredible journey, one full of friendship, magic and music. It is impossible to list who to thank for keeping our dream alive this past decade - because it is literally everyone - but we can try. 

To all the staff over the years, we love you immensely.

To all the musicians, agents, tour managers, merch people, techs and drivers - you are all the heroes. The world is better because of your tireless efforts.

To those who picked up a hammer, paint brush or cassette to craft a lamp, we say thank you.

To all the patrons - be curious and find new art. Gather in spaces and connect. Hold each other close. 

As we did with the passing of our namesake, we will mourn the loss but also celebrate the life. Though we might have unlocked the doors, it was the blood, sweat and tears of the Des Moines music community that breathed life and love into this building.

 

You will always be our family.
