TINDERBOX CIRCUS SIDESHOW (Lexington, Ky) – Tinderbox Circus Sideshow is one of the last remaining traveling “ten-in-ones” in the country. Our show consists of a variety of working acts, girlie shows (or burlesque), and classic carnival appeal. Our acts range from the classic circus side tent including The Human Blockhead, Sword Swallowing, The Human Pincushions, the Bed of Nails, Clowning, & Fire Eating…to more daredevil stunts the likes of Balancing on Wine Glasses, Eating Glass, Body Piercing Weight Lifting, & our personal favorite…BREAKING THINGS ON THINGS!

They’re the one-stop shop for all things icky in entertainment! Between Captain Darron’s miraculous nose, dangerous juggling, and high threshold for pain, whimsically white trash fantastic award-winning performer Trashique’s alluring ears, deadly figure, and non stop sing song energy, AND the most disgusting woman in sideshow, Devereaux Dollface…they never fail to astound, arouse, and disgust audiences across the nation! The trio spends their time scheming, plotting, and planning to dislodge your stomach contents and leave you screaming for more!

THE FORD THEATRE REUNION (Lexington, Ky) – “Sludgefunkcircuspunk”.  We had this band in earlier this year and i was blown away.  They are truly an original piece of performance art!  If you are interested in bands that are wholly original, in the fact that no one else sounds even close to them, then this is your band.  With elements such as clarinet and accordion The Ford Theatre Reunion will challenge any listener and take them to heights unknown.

THE DEAD EMPERORS (Iowa City, Ia) – Formerly The Mad Monks, TDE are well known to the Central Iowa area.  They have been the sister band of the Maw in Des Moines for almost 5 years, playing many shows around the state together.  Their current line up features a power trio and leans heavily toward Southern Prog Rock.

THE MAW (Des Moines, Ia) –

“The Maw are an incredible live band, and I have to admit, I am proud to know that they are from the Des Moines area. I hate the label of “Jam Band”… I think it sends out visions of sandal-wearing hippies singing funky melodies in between structured guitar and drum solos… Not that there is anything wrong with that… It’s just that I have been there, and that scene has worn thin with me. The Maw certainly do not apply to that form of music… But I think a Band that Jams might be a good fit. Half way through “Chora” the first song in their set, I am thinking to myself, Dem boys be smoking some funky stuff.

They actually caught me off guard… I wasn’t expecting to be that entertained.

Who do they sound like? Well if you ask the band, they will tell you Miles Davis, Cannibal Corpse, Pink Floyd, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra, to name a few. That’s quite a mix, and if you throw in what I heard, you’d have to add pockets of Supertramp, Jethro Tull, King Krimson, and Sundial. I couldn’t help but wonder how a band could be influenced by so many, and yet defy categorization. To put it simply, the only band that sounds like The Maw… Is The Maw.”
